My Longing Has Reached A Point, a Poetry Collection by Josh Fulton

My Longing Has Reached A Point by Josh Fulton is a collection of poems that explores assorted threads of human emotions as well as layered variations of contemplation.

John Fulton is a born poet whose adroit pen has much to pen down poking his interest in every earthly thought. The poem “My Mother as Massachusetts” is deeply introspective and reflects a wider prism view: My mother is not a state. She is a Commonwealth/ It is a title she earned in her War for Independence.”

The poem “Inheritance” is quite relatable for those who have gone through the phases of life following and obeying the ancestral feet until they acquire their own identical freedom.

A major character of this poetry collection is a Martian who can speak on every topic from Adultery to Football, as well as Divorce. Perhaps he is the greatest poetic voice.

“The River Merchant’s Letter to His Wife” infuse a love lyric solemn and serene. “She Said” is a raw and honest exploration of a love-seeking heart.

“Missing” contemplates the complexities of our own wish fulfilment. Every poem has its unique mark in capturing the various facet of human experience that transcends the moment and transport the reader to a heightened podium of intense feeling.

Alvina’s Verdict:

It is a powerful and resonating collection of poetry that stir the readers to a deeper level of understanding.  His choice of words is a testament to his poetic power to inspire, relate or connect the lost souls.

I must mention the beautiful and symmetrical illustration by Poul Rog. He has done a wonderful job by creating perfect images in harmony with poetic creations. When you go through the poetic pieces your heart lingers on the sounds and sentiments that they inject within you and at the same time your eyes get glued on the sketches, symbolic as well as in perfect symbiosis.
