Introduction:
The Five Languages by Gary Demonte Chapman is a unique book that today I want to share with you. Born in January 1938 Chapman is an American author. He did his B.A. and M.A. in the anthology and obviously, this knowledge proves a greater help in his contemplative considerations of human behaviour and relationships in his writings.
The book starts with the acknowledgement on the part of the author- “Love begins or should begin at home.” At the very beginning, Chapman makes it clear that the prime objective of human life is to find love.
In this book, though his main focus is on the counsel of married couples, in general, he talks about all the human beings who require love. The love tanks inside us must be filled and his emphasis is on the love that is essential for our emotional health. And for the betterment of our emotional health, we have to understand the love languages of our dear ones.
Chapman mentions five love languages:
Chapter by chapter he focuses elaborately on these aspects in the light of some persons who actively take part in resolving the hypothesis and regarding the treatment associated with love and relationships.
The five languages that Chapman mentioned are:
-
Words of Affirmation
-
Quality Time
-
Receiving Gifts
-
Acts of Service
-
Physical Touch
